Gutter vacuum cleaning uses industrial wet/dry vacuum systems with carbon-fibre extension poles to clean from the ground. It's now the dominant method for multi-storey and fragile-roof properties across Adelaide.
How it works
Pole and hose extend up to 12 metres. A camera at the pole tip streams to a tablet. Operator sees the gutter, identifies debris, suctions it into the vacuum unit.
Benefits
- No ladder accidents
- No walking on tiles (gentler on roof)
- Camera evidence of what's removed
- Wet/dry capability - removes silt and water as well as leaves
- Insurance-friendlier method
Cost
$40-$80 more than ladder for single-storey. Often same or cheaper for double-storey. Significantly cheaper than EWP for multi-storey.
When to use it
Double-storey, fragile heritage tile, slate, solar panels on roof, awkward access. Single-storey with easy ladder access doesn't need vacuum.
